Our History
For 50 years, Le Polynesia has been an important and integral part of the Polynesian community in Southern California, and began in 1961 under the direction of Junius and Ilima Montgomery.
Known for outstanding music, drumming and dance instruction and professional performance, Le Polynesia has graced some of the biggest stages with some of the most esteemed names in Polynesian entertainment.
Le Polynesia has also made a name for itself in the Polynesian dance competition circuit, winning numerous “1st place” and “Overall” awards at some of the most prestigious dance competitions.
With all the accomplishments of Le Polynesia for a half a century, we are still about Ohana, family. Run and operated by the Montgomery family, Le Polynesia is about the people, our friends and our family. It’s about sharing a culture that we love and respect. It’s about remembering our past and giving something to our kids, to our future.
Now directed by Guy and Lori Montgomery, they strive to maintain the Le Polynesia mission statement:
“to provide the best Polynesian Dance and Music instruction and entertainment as a mean of perpetuating the culture and traditions of the people of Hawaii and all of Polynesia”.
A New Generation

They promote a sense of friendship and Ohana and spread the Aloha spirit here on the mainland.the tradition and legacy continues…….God willing……………for another 50 years.
